Current Squash News and Notes for Rochester

Juniors

The USA has its first squash World Champion - Amanda Sobhy from Sea Cliff, New York. Congratulations to her!

At 17, she won the junior world championship (see the junior page for more details). Now, lets build on that success :-

I am starting junior squash teams in Rochester, see the 'Juniors' page.

The Summer (ie. Squash Training Season) is Here

It's time to take a break from the competative nature of the winter squash season !

But that's no reason to stop playing altogether - the summer is the best time for doing some training, to get you game into shape and be ready for the start of the next winter season.

Maybe it's time to get a coaching session (by yourself or in a small group/team) to tune up those rusty skills and get you on the path to winning.

National Team Championships

On the weekend of May 20-22, 2011, I went with one of my Midtown club teams and a team from Harro East, to the inaugural US Squash National League Finals, held at Harvard University in Boston, MA.

We all had a great weekend, I gashed my shin and we broke a glass wall (we like to leave our mark) !

After some crutial match coaching from yours truely, the teams finished :-
Harro East - 3rd in the 3.5 division
Midtown 1 - 3rd in the 3.0 division
